FUJII Sota defended his title against NAGASE Takuya, with a score of 4 wins and 1 loss.

FUJII wins Oshosen for the 4th time in a row, and already reached 28 titles, achieving the record of 5th place all-time so far.

In game 5, FUJII surprised everyone by opening with a very common move he never played before in any official match, he opened the bishop diagonal in stand of pushing the rook pawn. FUJII declared a few weeks ago he would like to play some new moves this year, and confirmed he will try new openings in his next match against NAGASE in the Meijinsen.
