As an organization to foster peaceful international exchange and friendship FESA strongly regrets and condemns the war of aggression by Russian forces against Ukraine. Ukrainian shogi players have been active participants of tournaments and events in Europe. Many European players have fond memories of the European and World Open Shogi Championships 2017 in Kyiv and the hospitality experienced there. Today’s pictures of Kyiv under attack sadden us. We join with our voice to call for an immediate stop of these attacks. Our thoughts these days are with the Ukrainian shogi friends and their families.
