Kio (棋王) is one of the 8 main shôgi titles. It usualy runs every year from february to march.

Kiosen is a best of 5 match, with a 4 hours + byo-yomi time control.

Money prize is estimated up to 10.000.000 yens, and tournament is opened to all professional players, all ladies professional and some amateurs.

This year FUJII Sota defended his title against MASUDA Yasuhiro 8 dan with a score of 3 wins and 0 losses.
