Fair play notice
To ensure fair play, if asked by organizers, participants agree to play with a webcam. If the organizer has any doubt about the fairness of an online play, the player will be banned from future tournaments and the rewards will be revoked. That includes: using external support like shogi AI or exploitation of 81dojo bugs.
Other issues
Draws – Sennichite and Jishogi
In case of sennichite (repetition draw), the match is immediately replayed with flipped colors. If the main time was used up, the time for the game is set to 60 seconds byoyomi.
In case of Jishogi (double entering king), the game is resolved using 81dojo DECLARE system.
Scheduling, reporting and game related issues
The schedule and pairings are announced on the first day of each round on shogiharbour.com with an accompanying ping on the tournament’s discord channel. The announced deadline is the final date for the game to take place. That is: the game needs to be scheduled and played before the deadline.
Paired players must arrange their games either on discord public channels or DM’s. The schedule of the game must be posted by one of the players to the “schedule-report” channel with a Discord Time Stamp.
The game schedule cannot be changed, if there are less than 24 hours remaining before the game. The player cannot be more than 15 minutes late to the game.
Not answering messages of the opponent, not scheduling the game, not showing on the game within 15 minutes or at all is all considered a forfeit without a match.
Technical problems may occur from the player’s side (e.g. faulty internet connection). If it results in 81dojo system as a loss, it will be considered as a loss in the tournament – unless the opponent agrees to replay the game (in a fair play spirit). That being said, if the loss is the result of an unfair bug exploitation (e.g. “forever time delay” bug), the game needs to be submitted (possibly with a proof : screenshot, video) to the organiser to be reevaluated.
The result of the game is posted on the discord “result-report” channel by the winner.
In any other issues the organizer will do their best to decide on the matter according to a fair play spirit.
