With the war of aggression by Russian forces in the Ukraine ongoing, FESA has resolved the following subsequent to the declaration from February 25, 2022

The Russian and Belarusian Shogi Federations are to abstain from voting in the General Assembly of FESA until further notice. Furthermore both countries are not eligible to host to the European Shogi Championship and the World Open Shogi Championship (ESC/WOSC) until the year 2025. To underline its mission to foster international understanding, peace and friendship among the people FESA will refrain from displaying national symbols like flags at its tournament and events.
