Lady professional Karolina Fortin organised an 9 rounds online series of tournaments on 81Dojo that was held from September 9 to November 22, 2024, with 4 categories.

The tournament gathered several strong amateurs players, and was supported by the very active Community of Shogi Harbour.

December 15th, the Tourney-To King (strongest of the 4 categories) has finaly been decided ! The title goes to Melkor256 (Anton Borysov), who claimed victory in an intense 3 games final against Tellmarch (Jean Fortin). The championship match was highly competitive, with the outcome determined only by the results of the final game.

Both players showcased their skills in a double static rook strategy, creating opportunities on both sides. Ultimately, Melkor256’s sharp edge attack and timely capture of Tellmarch’s rook secured his victory.

This marks Melkors first title as King on Shogi Harbour.

As a Tourney-To Series winner, Melkor256 will join other champions to face a professional player in a handicap match at the start of the New Year.
