The creation of the German Shogi League (DSL) by Shogi Deutschland is a significant development in the german shogi landscape.
After many years, numerous local shogi scenes have emerged. The German Shogi League now brings together city-based teams from all over Germany.
Teams consist of three to five players, with three players set up for each round.
Competition takes place in a double round-robin format, with each team facing every other team once in the first half of the league and again in the second half in autumn.
Düsseldorf are currently top of the table with an unbeaten record. Heidelberg are in second place and Hamburg in third, setting the scene for an exciting second half of the league.
